The New England Chapter of the Vernacular Architecture Forum was the first regional chapter established by the VAF. The chapter brings together individuals from a variety of academic and professional communities who share an interest in historic buildings and landscapes, within New England and beyond it.
The chapter offers its members three or four field trips per year, to sites throughout the region. In addition, a winter meeting, held annually at Old Sturbridge Village, brings members together to hear about recent research and to discuss research and field work challenges. These activities have been augmented by a variety of workshops on building analysis.
Membership in VAF-NE is a benefit of membership for all VAF members resident in the six New England states of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont. Others may receive notice of activities by submitting a request to the VAF-NE secretary. There is no membership fee and all activities are organized by volunteers. We raise our budget from fees for the annual meeting and donations.
VAF-NE is incorporated in Massachusetts as a 501(c)(3), with tax exempt status established with the Internal Revenue Service.

So excited that VAF finally decided to create these chapters. This should really aid in what we are trying to do here!
